What a time to be alive in this world. What a time to be starting a new venture with you as the Assistant Director at the Center for Spiritual Wisdom!
On a recent Sunday morning, I sat in meditation during the full moon in Capricorn and Pluto in retrograde. I had arrived at my friend’s house here in Western N.C. and was acutely aware of the new beginnings on the horizon for me. This particular morning, I also felt the collective energy of these planetary placements. I paused my meditation to wonder out loud how this would affect us all.
This year we are on the brink of shifting into a new way of being, a new age – the Age of Aquarius. The themes of Aquarius are a higher understanding of knowledge on an individual basis, which means no longer relying on institutions to think for us. Individually we will come to truths known not only in our heads but even more so in our bodies. The aquarian potential of these next two thousand years is to use this new and deeper wisdom for the betterment of the collective.
Spiritual time is a spiral, continually returning to the old to clear space for the new. During this transit (an astrological term), I also made a list of the patterns and themes in the past 24 years of my life and work. I noted which patterns need composting and which gifts I would like to bring forward. I recommend doing this for even the past 10 years.
This exercise revealed that at my core, I believe, love, and thrive on the power of relationship – of deeply knowing myself as well as one another. Spiritual practices of all kinds help me do this, astrology being one of them. Sipping tea, walking in nature, and sitting in meditation, both alone and with others, are a few practices that I partake in regularly.
As we begin this new chapter and this new age together, I look forward to entering these spaces with you. More than anything I want to know you. I want to walk with you. I want to find our places of deep collective healing and joy together. The world is a brutiful (a brutal and beautiful) place. I am deeply honored, excited, and hopeful to walk into this new age and starting my individual and our collective earthly pilgrimage with you.
