A 7-Week Online Learning Series
Offered by Center for Spiritual Wisdom & St. Philip’s Episcopal Church
FACILITATORS: Rob Field, Director of Center for Spiritual Wisdom, and Fred Brown of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church
Join us for an online study of N.T. Wright’s Paul: A Biography. For 7 weeks beginning April 28, meeting through Zoom video conferencing on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m., we will examine Paul’s life and work. Who was the man who many consider the architect of early Christianity? Who was “Saul of Tarsus,” the man Christians call “St. Paul”?
Our guide for the series will be one of the world’s experts on the New Testament, Bishop N.T. Wright. The book is available in print, ebook or audio editions. (Find a summary of Paul: A Biography and reader comments at Goodreads.) To allow maximum involvement by all, the group will be limited to 15 members in addition to the facilitators. Each weekly session will end at 8:30 p.m.
Facilitators Rob Field and Fred Brown are experienced teachers and group leaders. Field, an ordained minister, has master’s and doctoral degrees in theology and spirituality. He founded Center for Spiritual Wisdom in 2016. Brown has a master’s degree in theology from Duke University. They both have taught in many different settings.
“Easter With Paul the Apostle” is recommended for those who identify as Christian, and the book is written from a Christian perspective. There is no charge for the series, but participants will be asked to consider a donation to Center for Spiritual Wisdom or St. Philip’s Church, and commit to participate in at least 5 of the 7 sessions.
To register or receive additional information, email Fred Brown at docfhb@gmail.com. Registrations will be received on a first-come, first-served basis. (An optional orientation session to acquaint users with Zoom video conferencing will be offered prior to April 28.)
