9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Looking for a new practice to deepen your inner life? Here’s one: an introduction to Centering Prayer will be held Saturday, Jan. 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and will be held in person at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 256 E. Main St. in Brevard. St. Philip’s and CSW are co-sponsoring this event. (COVID19 vaccinations are highly recommended, masks covering mouth and nose are required, and safe social distancing will be observed throughout the event.)

Centering Prayer is a silent, meditative form of prayer used by millions of people throughout the world. Workshop participants will learn the 4-step Centering Prayer method, the history and theory behind the practice, and experience two periods of the prayer. There will be multiple question and answer sessions during the day. Rob Field, Director of Center for Spiritual Wisdom, will lead the event. He is a trained and certified presenter of Centering Prayer, having led dozens of workshops and retreats for the past 15 years. No prior experience or religious background is required in order to participate. A new weekly Centering Prayer group is forming in Brevard, in case someone would like greater support for the practice.

To reserve your space, please send an email to office@stphilipsbrevardnc.org. Questions about Centering Prayer or this event? Please send them to Rob Field.
