20th Century Wisdom for Understanding the Nature of Modern Relationships
A 3-Part Learning Series with Dr. Justin Levitov
Tuesdays Sept. 5, 12 & 19 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
Center for Spiritual Wisdom is pleased to announce a fall learning series discussing the 20th century Jewish philosopher, thinker, and political activist Martin Buber. Author, teacher, and counselor Dr. Justin Levitov will guide an in-depth discussion of Buber’s influential work I and Thou. Influencing the work of Martin Luther King Jr. and other prominent theologians and thinkers, Buber’s work cuts across time revealing important truths about relationships in today’s increasingly polarized world.
“Spirit is not in the I but between I and You.” – Martin Buber, I and Thou
Join CSW as we come together to read I and Thou in community, sharing and developing remarkable personal insights into the world of relationships. This series will offer a slow walk through hermeneutics, the theory of Interpretation, and Part 1 of Buber’s I and Thou. We’ll rely on your individual take on the text, group discussions, and your shared insights into the fascinating and important topic. The 3-week series will meet Tuesdays September 5th, 12th, and 19th at Elk Haven Wellness Center from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Registration is available at $59 per person (Regular Admission) or $89 (Admission Plus, which helps defray the actual cost of this and other CSW events).
