Meet Flora Brooke, our new staff member
She is joining the Blue Ridge Service Corps
We are delighted to announce that Flora Brooke is joining Center for Spiritual Wisdom as our new Assistant for Communications & Administration. Beginning later this month, Flora will join the Blue Ridge Service Corps, a community in Henderson County devoted to community service, spirituality, and social justice. BRSC is an initiative of the Episcopal Church in Western N.C. Flora will live in Hendersonville with 3 other members of the Blue Ridge Service Corps during the 2021-2022 academic year.
Flora will split her time between Center for Spiritual Wisdom and The Sharing House (Transylvania Christian Ministry), working part time in both positions. In her work at the Center, Flora will focus on communications, public relations, and administration. Based on her interests and availability, she will also be involved in planning and program facilitation at the Center.
Flora is from Portland, OR, and a recent graduate of Portland State University. She was a Liberal Studies major with a minor in Judaic Studies. Flora is familiar with North Carolina, having attended Davidson College for two and a half years, and serving in ministry at churches in Charlotte as well as Davidson, N.C. She hopes to continue her personal study of Judaism during her time at the Center. Please help us welcome Flora to the Center and this community!
