Thursday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom

Please join us on Thursday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern for CSW’s virtual monthly discussion series A Little About A Lot. October’s installment is titled On Belonging: Stories at the Intersection of Spirit, Self and Community. This engaging community discussion covers social, religious, and spiritual topics with curated online content consumed prior to the discussion.

As spiritual beings, our intrinsic longing for connection, embedded within our social nature, aligns with Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, emphasizing that, beyond the essentials of survival, our quest for love, belonging, and interpersonal intimacy is at the core of our holistic self-worth. As humans we are drawn to stories because we are always searching for meaning.

By sharing our stories, our emotions, and our experiences we learn about ourselves and others. Stories serve as bridges to empathy, opening pathways to understanding and compassion, and reinforcing our innate desire to connect with our spirituality, ourselves and others. As we share our stories, we not only express our views and emotions but also uncover commonalities that form the foundation of communities.

Jen Silva will be our guest facilitator. Jennifer (Jen) W. Silva, LCSW-S is a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working across a wide range of settings including child and families protection, integrated health systems and hospitals and community organizations. She has a passion for leadership development, teaching, coaching and mentoring. In her free time, she loves to read, write, study theology and spend time with her family and loved ones.

Participants are asked to engage the following selection of online materials prior to the discussion on October 19.
