Next Film Discussion: Mass

Nov. 17 at 7:00 p.m.

Center for Spiritual Wisdom’s November film selection is Mass (2021). The Center will host an online community discussion of the film on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Eastern.

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus of Nazareth claims that we must always forgive our neighbor: “not seven times but seventy-seven times” (Mt. 18:22). Easily said, but seemingly impossible in the midst of extreme tragedy. The movie Mass invites us to address issues of forgiveness, healing, love, and compassion head on. Years after an unspeakable tragedy tore their lives apart, two sets of parents agree to talk privately in an attempt to move forward. This movie thoughtfully examines their journey of grief, anger, and acceptance, coming face-to-face with ones who have been left behind. The movie highlights the power of dialogue in finding light in seemingly endless darkness.
