Interested in meditation and/or mindfulness? Tuesday mornings in August will offer you an opportunity to learn how.  No experience is necessary, and all levels are welcome.

Meditation practice isn’t about trying to throw ourselves away and become something better. It’s about befriending who we are already.  –Pema Chodron

Dr. Robert Cabin will be the instructor for the class, which will begin Aug. 13th at 8:15 a.m. and end Aug. 27th. Cabin writes, “We will learn about and practice a variety of techniques and approaches such as sitting and walking meditations, mindful eating, and nature-based activities. We will also learn about how meditation and mindfulness can enhance our mental and physical health, awareness and concentration, empathy and compassion, and relationship with and appreciation of nature.” Please wear loose, comfortable clothes.

There is a suggested donation of $40 for all three classes to cover the cost of this offering. For more information, questions, or requests, please email Robert Cabin. You can donate with a check or cash in person OR register using the link below and make a donation via Ticket Stripe.

Dr. Robert Cabin is a retired Professor of Environmental Studies at Brevard College, where he taught from 2005 to 2023. He now works as a life coach and consultant. Bob also leads CSW’s silent meditation group on Tuesday mornings — which will continue to meet on its regular schedule in August.
