Monday, March 18 from 4:00-7:00 PM   @ Elk Haven Wellness Center, Brevard NC

Rock painting comes full circle! Experiment with new painting tools as you discover the world of mandalas. You will learn about the rich, spiritual history of mandalas, both traditional and contemporary. Don’t think of yourself as creative? You’ll be amazed by what you can create. After the process of creating, you will spend some time translating your mandala, and for those who wish, you will be invited to share your insights with others in the class.

The word mandala means ‘circle’ and comes from the ancient language of Sanskrit. Mandalas are spiritually significant in Indian religions, Buddhism, and other spiritual traditions, and are commonly created as a visual representation of the universe. They are also used as tools for meditation. —Natasha Alexander

This creative and contemplative class will be led by Cindi Spillman of ArtLab. All materials will be provided … no experience necessary! Those who would like to bring their own rock to paint are welcome to do so.

Basic Registration at $29.00 per person and Registration Plus at $49.00 per person. Registration Plus gives participants the opportunity to help underwrite the cost of participation for this and other CSW offerings.

About Cindi Spillman: After careers in both interior design and arts management which included years of urban living, Cindi Spillman has come home to Brevard — her roots in Appalachia — to open ArtLab in the midst of a community rich in creative expression. Cindi brings together a desire to return to Western North Carolina, her experience as an artist, her enthusiasm for collaboration, and a fierce determination to remove the phrase ‘I’m not creative’ from the English language.
